As of 3/25/2020, we are able to see your child via telehealth. This is a video visit and will require you to have a computer, tablet, or smart phone with video and audio capability. Before your telehealth visit, please ensure your camera and microphone on your device are turned on, and the application used for the call has access to them. This is a temporary measure to help meet the needs of our families during these new and difficult times that COVID-19 has created. We are offering telehealth visits for any sick complaints. Please understand that this type of visit does have limitations. We will not be able to complete a full exam on your child, so we will do our best to get a detailed history from you about your child's illness to try to determine what is going on. We will be providing curb-side screening tests such as strep tests, flu tests or urine sample drop-offs in your car at both of our locations for patients that have already completed a telehealth visit. This way, your child never has to come into the office and we can further limit the spread of germs. Please understand, that our antibiotic prescribing practices will have to become a little more lax than usual while we are employing telehealth sick visits. THIS IS TEMPORARY. We are still committed to limiting antibiotic resistance and avoiding over-prescribing of antibiotics. Once the COVID-19 crisis is over, we will be reverting back to our normal policies regarding prescribing of antibiotics.
Telehealth visits will be billed to your insurance the same way in-person office visits are billed.
We can only see certain types of sick patients in the office right now. If you have symptoms concerning for COVID-19 (cough, difficulty breathing or shortness of breath, fever, chills, body/muscle aches, headache, sore throat, loss of taste or smell, vomiting, or diarrhea), you will be asked to schedule via telehealth. Sick concerns such as ear aches (without associated cold symptoms), painful urination, constipation, extremity/head injuries, or sleep concerns can still be seen in the office.
We can see any mental health consults or med rechecks via telehealth at ANY TIME during our business hours. This includes anxiety, depression and ADHD new and follow up visits. You can also still come in to the office for these visits during our well child hours (all day in the Taylor Creek office, mornings only in the Delhi office).
We are not offering Well Child exams via telehealth due to the lack of ability to perform a physical exam.
We are still scheduling Well Child exams all day in the Taylor Creek office and in the mornings only in the Delhi office. Only well children will be permitted in the office during these times. It is still very important to have your annual well child visit, especially if your child is due for vaccines.
